An introduction of sorts

It's been some months since I left twitter and I started posting on my mastodon account and maybe it's the enviroment, the difference from the frenetism of twitter, but I've been writing my thoughts about the shows I watch, and it's been fun and actually encouraging instead of scary, which maybe speaks more of my anxiety than of everything else. But I feel there are thoughts that need a different space because they're not so suited for threads and since I made this account, I figured I could try to finally use it. So here I am.

I'm 36 but I don't consider myself fandom old since I didn't experience LJ or other fandom spaces. My first approach to fandom was through tumblr and then ao3, only more recently discord, twitter, and currently the fediverse. 

I have a lot of interests and hobbies (both active and abandoned) but the constants are reading and listening to music, only recently I watch shows more frequently.

If I think about what else to say, I'll add it some time in the future.

Meanwhile, I'm going to try to figure out how this site works :)

Welcome to DW! You might want to try looking for communities for content and people to follow. I'd suggest you check out,

• c_ent and baihe_media, and their profile page for affiliated communities. C-ent also has a friending meme going on.
• journalmemes is currently inactive but has a lot of memes
• thefridayfive posts five questions for (almost) every Friday
• beautifulmechanical is a music community
• fandomcalendar is about all the fandom events, also a good place to find new people and/or communities to follow
• fancake is a thematic multifandom recommendation community

When you find an interesting person, check out their profile page for people and communities they subscribe to. And don't be afraid to comment!

ETA: Oh, and you might want to put a non-locked intro/info post up at some point so that people who come to check you out don't only see an empty journal.

Thank you so much for the tips. I was a bit nervous to post but wanted to do it to start using it. I'm definitely going to start using it more. I don't know if this is going to be the intro post I want to leave as the one everyone can see of if I'm going to write something different.

really cool thing it took me too long to figure out - besides changing style on our own journals to suit our own particular eyesight/neurological needs, we can use that to view other people's pages as well. i need dark view, but if someone needs brighter they don't have to be stuck with mine, and vice versa.

I need to explore all the options. I also use dark mode in everything that allows me to. But I need to learn how to use this website. I've seen people have different styles and I'd like to use a custom one. The important thing I wanted to achieve was to finally post something here so I would remember it exists :D
