Reading challenge 2025

The last days before 2024 ended I was scrolling through social media and saw that certain creator I follow because I like his posts about linguistics, tea, and books, posted a reading challenge, and I don't know why but I thought: "why not try?"

The challenge is very simple, there are 12 prompts, one for each month of the year:

  • January: a book by an author from a country far from yours
  • February: a book that someone dear to you chose for you
  • March: a book with your favorite color on the cover
  • April: a book you would have liked to read as a child
  • May: a book adapted from other media
  • June: a book by an lgbtqia author
  • July: a book someone you admire liked
  • August: a book that someone recommended on the internet
  • September: a book by an author from your country
  • October: a book that has to do with language/languages
  • November: a fantasy or science fiction novel
  • December: whatever book you want
Currently, I'm reading Married Thrice to Salted Fish, by Bikabi, it's danmei, and it counts because the author is from a country far away from mine.

I don't know if I'm going to be able to finish the challenge, because I suck at challenges. I ended up dropping the End of the Year Drama Challenge 2024 I started on fedi, for example. But I really want to try. Maybe another challenge will be not feeling guilty if I don't finish it, ha: Don't beat yourself up over things no one else cares about challenge, and anyone can join me whenever they want.

I'm wondering if I should say the name of the creator or link to his profile but I'm not sure 🤔.

...why do I feel like I should jump to this, too? Aren't book bingo, queer book challenge, and TWO buzzword challenges enough? WHY BRAIN
